Cross Media Production

The course gives understanding of phases of cross media production and different resources needed in productions. The production methods – co-production in multidisciplinary community and knowledge sharing are basic methods in hands on –studies of the course. The studies provide insight into the way producers and team share various roles in a production and how users are seen as human beings and the ethical principles of media productions. The studies provide also a special insight how to produce media for large audience.

Delivery and Working Methods:
Cross media production, joint project with Pori Sinfonietta and media students from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK). During the course student work in the multidisciplinary working groups. Teams divide their work inside the group so that there are necessary recourses for cross media production – management, content production, script writing, interface design, programming, productizing as well as user research.

According to the course takes place Wagner Gala Concert production. Student of Cross media production course are able to join the production as a part of their syllabus and combine other media production studies.

For 5 credits students are asked to do:
80 % presence in the lectures and active participation of the teams in Wagner Gala Concert production

For 10 credits students are asked to do:
80 % presence and active participation of the lectures AND work of the production teams, meetings in the project days: 8.3., 16.3., 22.3., 30.3. and building up the performance in Promenadi hall during 10.-19.4.
